Betz Family Winery first started producing wines in 1997. Their production has grown from 150 to between 2,500 and 3,000 cases. The winery partners with select growers to source their fruit. The growers are all located within Washington’s Columbia Valley AVA and its inner appellations (Yakima Valley, Horse Heaven Hills and Red Mountain). The Syrah La Serenne was sourced from the same block of the same vineyard (owned by Dick Boushey in Yakima Valley) for the sixth year in a row. The winemaker believes that this vintage has the most aging potential so far because of 2005’s even growing season. "" I had a chance to retaste the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Pere de Famille. Last year I though the wine was a bit compressed but that time would likely round it out. One year later the wine has blossomed and appears headed for a promising future."" Wine Advocate rated 93
