The Languedoc – Roussillon region of France is one of the best places to grow Syrah. The soil composition and climate combine to produce some of the best expressions of the Syrah grape and Domaine Coudoulet is an excellent example of the true expression of this region. The vineyards of Domaine Coudoulet were replanted in the early 1980s resulting in over 100 acres of mature Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignan vines. This wine is sultry with delicious ripe fruit tastes and soft tannins. The 2005 vintage is particularly rich with lavender and mineral-scented aromas. Black cherry, currant, and plum work together to make for a delicious bottle of wine that also happens to be a very good value. |
