Delas Frères’ history dates back to 1834 when Charles Audibert and Phillipe Delas bought a wine merchant company. When 2 Delas sons married the 2 Audibert daughters and took over management of the company, it was renamed Delas Frères. The company expanded by purchasing vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Hermitage to ensure accessibility of high quality wines. The company was acquired by Deutz Champgane in 1977 which was in turn acquired by the Roederer Group in 1992. The Haut Pierre wine is sourced primarily from the estate’s 7, 600 acre vineyards that are planted to Grenache (90%) and Syrah (10%). “The colour is a deep garnet-red. The nose of the ""Haute Pierre"" cuvée is characterised by strong spicy aromas, which show a rich, powerful body wrapped around with a more delicate yet tightly knit tannic framework. Rich and unctuous on the palate, the finish reveals some intense, liquorice-like flavours.” Winery Notes.
