Pull Eighty is a T. Edward exclusive made from two highly regarded
Pinot Noir vineyards in the state of Oregon. This brand is the result
of a commitment to an entire vintage's production and some tight lips.
We are at liberty to disclose neither the names of the vineyards nor
the winemaker's name. We are happy to do it, however, because it means
that we can offer this wine at half of what it would normally sell for.
This label is a tribute to Patrick Edward Crowley. PEC served
as President of the New York Central Railroad from 1924-1931. His
reputation for demanding a hard day's work and maximum efficiency led
his friends and colleagues to coin his initials into a nickname, Pull
Eighty Cars. In the early 1900s most locomotives typically pulled only
thirty cars but on a flat grade were capable of pulling eighty. PEC
demanded that all his locomotives over-deliver on the norms of his day.
We hope that this Pinot Noir does the same.
