This Chardonnay is bright with a clear robe and a beautiful yellow
color with golden highlights. The very aromatic nose develops notes of
citrus fruits with a dominant of pink grapefruit enhanced by a mineral
note. A hint of wood with lightly grilled hazelnut rounds off the aromas
on the nose in delightful complexity. The frank, pleasant and
refreshing attack on the palate has developed as the acidic notes of
grapefruit are evident. Wonderful fleshiness on the palate gives this
wine a rounded texture (notes of fresh butter) which balance the initial
acidic notes, while the excellent length is evident. Refined and
aromatic, this wine can be enjoyed immediately for its refreshing youth
or laid down for some time to develop mellow notes.
Alexandrine
Roy is now in charge at this small family estate and is making quite an
impact. Having spent time in other Pinot Noir hot spots, such as Oregon
and Central Otago in New Zealand to expand her experience, she is
setting about putting this domaine firmly on the map. With no Grands
Crus or even 1ers Crus in her portfolio, she is anxious to ensure she
makes a stand out village wine and this she achieves with style. |
